Ardahan Kalesi (Castle)
Ardahan Castle, located in the Halil Efendi District of Ardahan Center, was built in the middle of the 16th century by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent. Ardahan Castle was supported by many towers on a rectangular planned area. Smooth cut stones (Küfeki stone) and Khorasan mortar were used in the construction of the castle. With its masonry technique, polygonal towers and positioned form, the castle resembles the Rumeli Fortress.
